After graduating from university with a degree in Television Production, I began my career in documentary filmmaking and pop promos before transitioning into the world of Film and Television. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working across all these fields, embracing their unique challenges and opportunities.

My journey through the Camera Department has been deliberate and comprehensive—I’ve held every position along the way. This approach has allowed me to gain a deep understanding of the craft and build a solid foundation for developing my own voice as a cinematographer. I firmly believe that,  just as seven directors would create seven distinct films from the same script, every Cinematographer brings their unique perspective to the table. Learning from the talented DPs I’ve worked with has been an invaluable part of honing my personal style.

I started my career in the era of film, and while its prominence has waned in favor of digital formats, I’ve embraced these advancements and become well-versed in a wide range of technologies. Regardless of the medium, my passion for visual storytelling has remained steadfast.

Pursuing this path has been a lifelong dream—one that has taken me to incredible places, introduced me to fascinating people, and provided countless opportunities to collaborate creatively in pursuit of the "end goal." I feel truly fortunate to call this work—my passion—my profession.

"Inventive, imaginative & co-operative.  Nick has been a first rate DOP for me on 2 dramas I have directed for BBC1.

I would have no hesitation in working with him again.  In fact I would actively seek out his services.

A team player, too...and a lovely guy with it".
